Children learn from stories and identify closely with characters in different settings and social situations. Often identification with characters in a story, children find their voice. Each of the Cloud9World stories features characters the age of the readers. During each story, readers learn about one of more than 40-character strengths in a common social context. Children identify with a character their age, as well as the lovable, non-threatening animal characters who often teach the character truths.

Cloud9World’s curriculum consists of non-scripted lesson plans and a battery of assessments. Lesson plans are written for flexible instructional delivery in a menu-like format that allows for choice and differentiation. Individual activities are written for the student (except PK) to make it easier to use under a document camera allowing for a student choice option. Lesson plans cover literacy skills – vocabulary, comprehension, writing, speaking/listening/discussion – and are based on researched best practices that incorporate critical and creative thinking. All lesson plans are aligned to literacy standards and incorporate extension and research activities to add additional rigor to the lesson. All lesson plans are also aligned with ASCA and include a Home Connection for student & parents to complete related activities together.

Available only online except Kiwi

Many SEL programs try to be “one-size-fits-all” programs. Students, schools, and districts are unique, and their needs are also unique. Cloud9World encourages you to determine your students’ needs through your existing school academic and behavior data or with the Social-Emotional Competency Indicator (SECI). You can customize your order by determining which character strengths you plan to use which months throughout the school year.
